Howdy, partner! Here’s something that will surely put the giddy up and go in your week, a new adventure evening tour through the swamp and ranch at Babcock Wilderness Adventures in Punta Gorda, Fla. But, this is a limited engagement, buckaroo. The experience will be offered Thursday, March 29 and Saturday, March 31, 2012.

The Florida International Air Show returns to Southwest Florida skies March 24 – 25, 2012, with not one, not two but three jets teams. U.S. Navy Blue Angels  headline this year’s show with precision aerobatics at speeds up to 700 mph. Black Diamond Jet Team, America’s premier civilian-owned demonstration team and Team RV will also race across the sky during the 32nd annual event.

With the notice of Direct Air canceling its charter program on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau recognizes this is impacting fliers into and out of Punta Gorda Airport. We have gathered the following resources to assist in reaching your final destination.

Want to be taken out to the ballgame? The Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau is honored to be the spring training home of the Tampa Bay Rays and we will host a Tweetup on Friday, March 9, 2012, to coincide with the Rays game against the Baltimore Orioles in Port Charlotte, Florida. Seating will be in a suite at Charlotte Sports Park.

Preceding the 1:05 p.m. game, enjoy a “Maddonini Chicken” lunch at River City Grill in Punta Gorda. Rays Manager Joe Maddon recently recommended the dish and restaurant through a tweet.
