What are you doing the morning of Saturday,  Nov. 6? How about walking a mile of beach, photographing it and sharing it with the world to prove Florida’s beaches are fabulous and oil-free?

The Englewood-Cape Haze Area Chamber of Commerce is the Charlotte County for this state-wide event. I’ll be out there walking my mile and hope to see more of you, too.

Last year was the first time I truly experienced Halloween in Charlotte Harbor & the Gulf Islands and I’m excited more spooky events are happening this year.

Did you know there are haunted tales about Punta Gorda? I took a Historic Ghost Tour of Punta Gorda through a cemetery. Even though it wasn’t dark, stories were eerie and some made the hair on the back of neck stand!  Historic ghost tours of downtown Punta Gorda are offered, too. Charlotte County, Fla., Visual Arts Center instructor Jack Vartanian demonstrates throwing a pot.

Artsensation returns Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, to the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center to celebrate 20 years of the festival. Presented by the Arts & Humanities Council of Charlotte County, the event is open between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Local artists, performers, writers and cultural organizations will meet with guests and discuss their work.
