It’s nice returning back to the office from a long weekend to some good news – Vision Airlines announced today the launch of its non-stop, low-fare air service between Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) and Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) beginning March 25, 2011.
To celebrate the expansion, travelers booking flights to Florida at the $49/one-way introductory fare, when booked between Jan. 18 – 23, 2011.
The airline will operate flights two days a week from Punta Gorda Airport to the Destin * Fort Walton Beach, Fla., area using a 30-seat Dornier 328 aircraft.
In a media release distributed today, David Meers, Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Operations for Vision Airlines said, “Vision Airlines is excited to offer this new, low-cost air service to the Punta Gorda/Charlotte County community and surrounding areas,” he added, “It is our desire to continue to grow our service and route structure, and offer tremendous value to leisure travelers.”
“We are extremely happy to be predestined,” Gary Quill, Executive Director of Punta Gorda Airport said, “The new service by Vision Airlines from Punta Gorda to Northwest Florida Regional Airport will be the first service from Southwest Florida to the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area and all of Northwest Florida, helping the economy of both Northwest and Southwest Florida.”
Effective March 25, 2011, flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays.
