Historic Downtown Punta Gorda

Here’s an exciting new event happening in Punta Gorda, Fla., next week, Punta Gorda Book Week. The following is information provided by the organizers.

This is a great opportunity to get your read on!

Authors and writers are sought for the first Punta Gorda Book Week, to take place January 17-22, 2011, in downtown Punta Gorda. Daily writers’ workshops will be held Monday through Friday in downtown businesses.

Authors will participate in Thursday evening’s popular Gallery Walk and the Punta Gorda Book Week finale will be an all-day open-air booksellers market on Saturday, January 22 in Herald Court Centre. The Saturday book festival will feature music, a writing competition, storytelling, face painting, art displays and writing workshops at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Herald Court Centre campus and the Artisan’s Atelier, also in Herald Court Centre.

This is a strong opportunity to connect with a diverse audience of readers and writers. For more information call Irene Butler at 941-623-3148

  1. I will be there Thursday night with my book at Cafe Ruelle and look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday as well.

  2. Excellent presentation this morning by David Abraham. Looking forward to the rest of the week… Can I bring my Papillons Thursday? (Just kidding!)

  3. I have a question not a comment. I love writing and especially helping to edit, draft or proofread someone’s manuscript. I live in Port Charlotte and would like to make contact with people who need this help. Eventually, I would like my own website.
Please advise if you can help. Thanks.
