Monday we shared news about their new nonstop service between Greensboro, N.C., (GSO) and the Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) and yesterday we were happy to learn about new service between Grand Rapids, Mich. (GRR) and Charlotte County. Today we are over the MOON with news of yet another city now connected to Southwest Florida with nonstop flights, Lexington, K.Y. (LEX)!

LEXINGTON, Ky. —Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today announced new, nonstop jet service between Lexington, Ky., and the Fort Myers, Fla. area will begin Nov. 18. The company, known for its exceptional travel deals, will celebrate the new, low-cost service to the Punta Gorda Airport, conveniently located on the Southwest Florida Coast, with sunny introductory fares as low as $44.99* each way.

The new flights will operate twice weekly between Blue Grass Airport (LEX) and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD), with service Thursday and Sunday. Flights will depart Lexington at 10:15 a.m. arriving in Punta Gorda Airport at 12:30 p.m. Flights leaving Punta Gorda Airport will depart at 4:30 p.m. arriving in Lexington at 6:45 p.m. (all flight times are local). The carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The company also offers low-cost, nonstop flights from Lexington to Orlando and the Tampa Bay, Fla. area.
